On the 15th of November 2009 during the early morning hours, a Barrie Taxi driver picked up a fare on Dunlop St. E. While in the area of Yonge St. and Minets Point the driver and fare became involved in a dispute. The fare became enraged and punched the driver in the face. The fare then exited the taxi and again punched the driver in the face. The taxi driver eventually fought the male off. Police attended and commenced an investigation. On the 17th of November 2009, a 26 year old Barrie male was charged with assault and released with a future court date.

On the 17th of November 2009 at approximately 12:20am, a 29 year old Barrie resident was observed by police driving in an erratic manner on Owen St. The officer stopped the vehicle and investigated the male. Through investigation it was determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol. further investigation revealed that the male was disqualified from driving because of a impaired conviction earlier this year. A further search of the male revealed that he was in possession of a small amount of marihuana. The accused is in bail court today.
