On the 19th of November the Barrie Police Traffic Unit conducted a festive RIDE Program. Numerous vehicles were stopped and several roadside breath screening tests conducted. A 26 year old male was arrested for Impaired Driving in the downtown core after failing to stop for a red light. He was transported to the station where he provided samples of his breath that were 2 times the legal limit. A further charge of Driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in his blood was added. Once sober he will be released with a future court date.
