An officer on patrol in the downtown was monitoring the crowd gathering to prepare for the Santa Claus parade. The officer observed a female staggering in the middle of the road on the route the parade was taking. The officer spoke with the 40 year old female and determined that due to her level of intox, her safety was an immediate concern. She was arrested for her own safety and held in custody until sober. Due to the fact that she has been a repeated client for public intoxication, she will have a future court date.
