Barrie Police officers were kept busy in the downtown core Saturday night with drunks, fights and other disorderly conduct. A 21-year-old female passed out in the rear of a taxi on Maple Avenue around 3 a.m. Officers managed to rouse her long enough to transport her to the station where she was charged with being intoxicated in a public place. She was one of many charged with the same offence.

A 33-year-old Barrie male is charged with domestic assault after an argument between a husband and wife turned physical. The female was taken to RVH and treated for minor injuries to her head.

An 18-year-old male is accused of stealing a bottle of rum from a south end liquor store Saturday night. The male is currently on charges for unrelated matters. Charges for the theft, escape custody and breaching probation are pending.

A Barrie mother is facing charges of assaulting her children after an investigation by Barrie Police this weekend. The 46-year-old female has a future court date.

Barrie Police officers attended several noisy parties Saturday at various locations throughout the city. Most of the parties broke up as police arrived and cautions regarding the city's noise bylaw were issued.
