SAFER INTERNET DAY 2010

February 9th is Safer Internet Day 2010.

Countries around the world will be participating through a variety of activities to raise awareness and help protect young people online.

The Canadian Centre for Child Protection will be launching the website, the Door that’s Not Locked on February 9, 2010, a ‘one-stop-shop’ for adults interested in learning about ways to keep kids safe on the Internet.

The new website is interactive and includes information about what children are doing online, the associated risks and what can be done to better protect them.

Across Canada, police play an integral role in educating the public about issues related to Internet safety. We’re very excited about this initiative and encourage our community partners to get involved in doing activities which would raise awareness on this important day.
