Oldtimers' Hockey Challenge Coming to Barrie in February

HALL OF FAMER RAY BOURQUE WILL CAPTAIN THE BOSTON BRUINS ALUMNI AS THEY TAKE ON THE ONTARIO LAW ENFORCEMENT TORCH TEAM FOR SPECIAL OLYMPICS IN BARRIE

Barrie, On - The Legendary Hockey Heroes will be coming to Barrie for the Oldtimers’ Hockey Challenge taking place 7:00pm, Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at the Barrie Molson Centre.

Hockey Hall of Famers Ray Bourque plus Rick Middleton, Terry O’Reilly, Ken Linseman, Tom Fergus, Bob Sweeney, Mike Krushelnyski, Bruce Shoebottom, Dave Ellett, Cleon Daskalakis will take on the Ontario Law Enforcement Torch Team. Recently retired NHL Referee Kerry Fraser will add to the competitive spirit, fun and antics of the game.

The Oldtimers’ Hockey Challenge is designed to give fans and players alike an opportunity to celebrate a common joy of the game while at the same time giving much needed funds to worthy organizations. A portion of the proceeds from each ticket will go to the Ontario Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.

The Oldtimers’ Hockey Challenge will also feature laser shows, Crazy Claude – the trumpeter, the Call to Recycle Tykes, Special Olympic Puck Toss and local figure skaters. As an added feature, all fans with an Oldtimers’ Hockey Challenge ticket are invited to bring their skates and participate in the Public Pre-Game Skate with some of the Legends on Wednesday, February 14, 2012 between 5:00 and 6:00pm.

The Oldtimers’ Hockey Challenge is family fun entertainment appearing in over 40 cities from coast to coast in Canada. It’s the most successful tour of its kind in North America and raises money for charity in each city it visits.
