Tha Barrie Police Association is hosting the Kids N Cops Charity Golf Tournament on Monday August 23, 2010 - 1pm shotgun start at the Barrie Country Club.
A friendly rivalry between Barrie Firefighters, Barrie Police Service and Canadian Forces Base Borden soldiers was the catalyst for this year’s very first Kids Help Phone Guns N Hoses challenge.

On the 14th of April, they were presented with the "Team Award" at the Simcoe County 911 Management Board - Tri-Service Public Safety Communications awards for 2009.
Shortly after midnight on Friday evening (March 12th) a lone male entered the Tim Horton's on Quarry Ridge near the RVH. The male concealed his face with a red Bandana and head covered with a baseball cap. The restaurant was empty of customers at the time. The male suspect produced a black semi-automatic pistol or imitation pointing it at the clerk. The suspect demanded money attempting to disguise his voice. He then fled in a southeast direction on foot. A canine track was commenced by the responding officers and a baseball cap used was recovered.
Suspect is described as:
Male, white, approx 18-25 years, pale skin, slim build, approx 5' 9" to 6" 0", wearing a black Chicago Cubs baseball cap with orange brim, a black(or very dark) jacket with a logo in white(or light colour) over each breast area and a logo on the left arm above the elbow, wearing dark pants and dark tan shoes. or ankle boots with red laces, his face was obscured with a red bandana. Male was armed with what appeared to be a large frame semi-automatic pistol, black in colour. Male appeared to possibly have a hoodie sweatshirt underneath coat with white draw strings dangling outside of his coat.
The Investigation is continuing.
