Members of the Barrie police service have linked the November 13th break and enter occurrence at Jeff Walter’s diamonds to a similar incident which occurred on September 30th in York region.
On the 10th of December 2008, six brand new recruits were sworn in by Police Chief Wayne Frechette. The Constables look forward to serving their community, and will be assigned to the front line immediately.
The Barrie Police Service Traffic Unit as part of the Barrie Police Road and Traffic Safety Plan conducted a truck/car inspection blitz that started on Monday September 15th and ended on Wednesday September 17th.
In an effort to address the growing problem of off road vehicles operating in the city’s green spaces, parks and roadways, the Barrie Police service has launched an initiative utilizing officers on mountain bikes to patrol these off road areas where motorized vehicles are prohibited, as well as the roadways used as the route to these trails.
