********************************************
Community Service Police Officers assisted by the Traffic Unit Officers will bring the Barrie Police Command Post into each community ward for three consecutive days (Wed-Fri) within the summer(1 ward per week).
This will provide residents, living within the ward, an opportunity to express concerns about their neighbourhood and police officers will be "on hand" to address and resolve some of these concerns.
Throughout the 3 days, Community Service officers will present educational seminars to the neighbourhood youths.
These seminars will include topics such as: bicycle safety, water safety, neighbourhood safety, internet safety and drug awareness. There will be daily prizes, provided by local ward businesses, as well as a 3-day interactive questionnaire game for the youth.
Fridays will be deemed "Fun Fridays" and again, local ward businesses have come together to provide prizes and in some wards, restaurants will be providing food for youths on Friday.
